Christmas Afternoon

For Christmas dinner we went to Grandma Mary Ann's. We were all able to visit with Aunt Rachel, Grandma Mary Ann, Uncle Johnathan and soon to be aunt & cousins Anastasia, Gavin and Olivia. We all had fun visiting and ate way too much of the great dinner! We also celebrated Uncle Johnathan's 34th Birthday!
Rebecca had a great time, but unfortunately never took a nap. She fell asleep on the way home (around 5:30) and did not get up for the day until 8:15. She normally sleeps from 7:00 pm to 6:45 am, so she definitely needed some R & R.

Opening Presents Xmas Morning

Here are some pictures of Rebecca when she woke up Christmas morning and opened some of her presents. Her favorite parts were the bows & ribbons! Thanks everyone for sending such great gifts for Rebecca!

X-Mas Eve Photos

Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve. Rebecca went to church (where she did really good!) then we went to Gramps & Mimi's house for Rebecca to open some presents. We had dinner with Gramps, Mimi, Aunt Rachel, (very soon to be) Aunt Anastasia, and Uncle Johnathan.

Super baby to the rescue!

The Doctor kept us waiting for quite a bit!

Doctor's Office

Here are some pictures. Dr. Watkins said she was doing great. Her favorite part was grabbing the paper off the exam table and eating and/or ripping it! She weighed in at 12 lbs and 14.5 oz., so she has doubled her birth weight. Because she is such a milk snob, we have been pushing more food and trying to get Rebecca to use a sippy cup.

Rebecca's First "Half Birthday"

Rebecca turned 6 months old today. We go for her check up tomorrow, so I will make sure to update the blog. She is doing great at sitting up and playing and is just SUPER funny! She went to school today and I left early to spend the afternoon playing with her! She ate her favorite dinner (bananas) and jumped LOTS in her jumper then rode around on daddy's back!
Here are some pictures of her playing tonight.

Eating like a big girl

These are from the 15th. Rebecca is eating Melba toasts (well, holding them and slobbering on them until we trash it). She love them!

We just started feeding her in her high chair (thanks Grandma Sue). She sits up like a big girl and loves playing with the spilled food on the tray! She is also trying to feed herself.

Sitting up on her own

Rebecca is growing up so fast.
She is sitting up on her own- well kinda...we still need to be there to catch her when she topples over which invariably happens after about 20 seconds of playing when she decides she wants to reach far away at something then topples over. Here are some pictures of her sitting up on her own this evening.
On Monday she ate "solids" at school for the first time. Her teachers said she did great and she ate all of the cereal I packed for her. So now she is starting to eat "solids" twice a week. Our new food this week has been carrots. Avocado and Banana are still her favorites.

Also, she is starting to try to feed herself. She tries to hold her bottle and she is trying to grab the spoon from my hand and feed herself.

This Past Weekend

So, I know when I started this whole thing I mentally promised myself (and some grandparents) that I would update it every weekend-- Sorry everyone, but it just did not happen this past week. Josh has been slammed at work and worked through the whole weekend. Which ended up being fun for Rebecca and I. She went to book club with me on Saturday and we did some Christmas shopping together on both Saturday and Sunday. She helped me pick out gifts for the holiday wish program at HRI. Never too early to teach her the importance of giving (especially at this time of year!). She of course made friends everywhere that we went and was quite the charmer at book club. I tried to get her to talk about all of her literary knowledge (i.e. Goodnight Moon), but she wasn't quite ready for all of that.

Below is a picture of her playing in her room this evening.
