Rebecca's Great Grandpa

Rebecca's great grandfather John went into an emergency quadruple bypass surgery on Tuesday afternoon. He was taken off his respirator today, but is still in critical condition. All of your thoughts and prayers for our family is appreciated right now.

We all hope he recovers soon and we can make it up to Detroit to see him soon. Grandma Sue is with him right now taking good care of him and doing a wonderful job of keeping us updated here in Dallas with everything that is going on.

Rebecca's New Wheels

In addition to all the great used clothes we get from the Romero clan, they passed along Rebecca's new "Car" this past weekend. She loves turning the wheel and making it honk. It is helping her work on her standing and she sometimes moves it, but right now I think it is more accidental when she gets it to move. She loves it though!

Snow Day

Tuesday night there was an ice storm that hit Dallas. Rebecca's school was closed on Wednesday, so mommy stayed home with her and we played all day. It was great to have a whole mommy daughter day together. It was exactly what I needed.

We just hung around the house most of the day trying to stay warm. In the afternoon, I took Rebecca on a walk to see the ice on everything. She kept grabbing icicles and trying to eat them! Dinner with the Bergins

To finish out Rebecca's busy social packed weekend, we had dinner with the Bergins Sunday afternoon. Here is a picture of her playing with Jennifer & Eric.

Andrew's First Birthday

On Sunday Rebecca went to Andrew's First Birthday Party in Dallas. Her favorite part of his birthday party was laughing at his doggie, Star. Rebecca just LOVES dogs. If you listen closely, you can hear her laugh at Star.

Kate's First Birthday

We all went to San Antonio Friday and Saturday for Kate Romero's First Birthday. Rebecca's favorite part was all of the balloons they had. She grabbed a red one and would not let go of it for hours. She loved holding the ribbon and we would bop her with it and she thought it was hilarious. We took her in a jumpy house too. Thanks Romero family for having us & happy birthday Kate!

Rock & Roll Baby

This afternoon Rebecca started "rocking" on all fours for the first time. I could never catch it on video, but here is a video of her rocking momentarily then taking a nosedive. I also got a picture of her doing it later too.

Happy Inaguration Day!

Much to Daddy's dismay, Rebecca wore her Obama onesie to school today! Thanks Jennifer for the great outfit.

Poor Rebecca

Rebecca caught a bug- starting Friday afternoon/evening she ran a temp of 102. She was just miserable. We took her into the pediatricians office Saturday morning after a sleepless Friday night and they confirmed no ear infection or flu, so we were relived. We are guessing she just caught a really nasty cold virus. The Tylenol started working Saturday evening and today she is close to being back to her old self (with a runny nose).

If she is still running a temp on Monday, back to the pediatricians we will go.

Cantaloupe

This is from last Wednesday when Rebecca tried cantaloupe for the first time. Nothing that exciting about her reaction- she was actually much more interested in what mommy was doing. Mommy was juggling the recording and feeding on her own. Therefore, mommy also spent Wednesday evening cleaning pieces of cantaloupe from the camera lens.

Wild Woman on the Couch

Here are some pictures and a video from Saturday when we got back from the Arboretum. Rebecca is sitting up better and you can tell from the video that the girl is always on the move. Make sure you turn the audio up on the video. Fyi, that I tried to catch her on video all weekend saying "mamamamama" or "dadadadadada" but was unsuccessful. Whenever I took the camera out she acted all demure and quiet!

Saturday was 82 degrees in Dallas (no that was not a typo). We decided to have brunch with the Masso's at the Arboretum to enjoy the beautiful day and give little Miss Rebecca some sunshine. These are some cute picture from the car ride over (which is all of 4 minutes).

Blueberry Belly Girl

On Saturday Rebecca tried blueberries for the first time. The video is her first bite of blueberries ever. As you can tell, she LOVED them! The picture is the aftermath!

The Biggest Bulldog in the House

Rebecca cheered on the Dawgs for the Big Bowl game on the first. She cheered for Penn State too (until she had to go to bed)!

Wedding

Yesterday Rebecca attended her first wedding. She saw her uncle Johnathan marry Anastasia. Welcome Anastasia, Gavin & Olivia to the family!

Anastasia's Wedding Shower

Target

Here is a cute picture of Rebecca from last week that her aunt Rachel took when we all went shopping at Target. We picked up a lot of clearance xmas stuff (and diapers). Rebecca is already becoming a bargain shopper!
